Community Outreach Effort – Gift Delivery to Mercy Centre Preschools (February 22, 2023)

‘Kindness is the universal language that can be spoken by everyone.’
We thank everyone in our school community for their generosity and kind contribution to the ‘Gift Giving’ project which ran from Christmas through last week. We collected more than 100 gifts, and XCL ASB Service Learning Club students and teachers delivered them to the preschools under the care of Mercy Centre.
It was such a joyful day for these underprivileged preschoolers, and a fruitful learning experience for our students.
Thank you once again for your support for this community outreach effort.

Community Outreach Activities with Paper Rangers (November 17, 2022)

Here’s a quick peek into our high school students’ community service activities with Paper Rangers. Students assembled notebooks from recycled paper and designed lovely covers with meaningful quotes. These lovely notebooks will be distributed to students in rural areas, who need educational resources. What a lovely way to learn about recycling and making use of ‘wasteful’ paper!

Food and Supplies Drive to Benefit the Mercy Centre (December 3, 2020)

In mid-October 2020, the Middle School Service Learning Club organized a food and supplies drive to support the Mercy Centre, which is a 40-year-old foundation that helps communities by building schools, improving family health and welfare, protecting street children’s rights, and giving shelter to orphans.
Since the onset of COVID-19, the Mercy Centre has faced shortage in food, general amenities and school supplies for their day-to-day operations needed to take care of the children under their shelter. So a month-long food and supplies drive was organized by the students. Over 1000 non-perishable food, household items and school supplies were collected.
